Ingredients

  • 450 g calamari fresh and raw
  • 1 extra large egg
  • 1/2 cup coconut flour preferably organic
  • 1 tsp pink himalayan salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 56 ml coconut oil organic is best
  • 20 ml lemon juice unsweetened
  • 160 g carbsmat mayonnaise

Instructions

  • In a bowl beat the egg. In another bowl combine the coconut flour and dry ingredients.
  • Pat the calamari dry and dip into the beaten egg then dredge through the flour mixture before dropping into the pan to fry.
  • Cooking in batches making sure to not overcrowd the pan, fry 2 minutes per side until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towels.
  • Either serve as is or toss with chillies of your choice if you wish and add enough carbsmart mayonnaise and some lemon juice.
